This Privacy Statement explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. While it is written with our website in mind, we apply these same principles to personal information we collect through other campaign activities, such as canvassing, community events, phone outreach and lawn-sign requests.
1.Information You Choose to Share
When you connect with the campaign, we may collect information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, address and postal code. This may occur when you:
- Sign up for campaign news or updates
- Volunteer with the campaign
- Request a lawn sign
- Make a campaign contribution
- Register for or participate in campaign activities
- Contact or otherwise communicate with the campaign
2.Campaign Contributions & Payment Information
- If you make a campaign contribution, your payment may be securely processed through a third-party payment service provider. The campaign does not intend to store full credit-card or payment-card information on its website.
- We collect and retain the information required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 for every contribution, including your name, address, contribution amount and date, along with your self-declared eligibility (for example, that you are an Ontario resident contributing from your own funds).
- If your total contributions to the campaign exceed $100, your name and address will be included, as required by law, on the campaign's financial statement, which is filed with the City Clerk and becomes a public document.
- Contribution information may also be used, retained or disclosed where necessary to meet applicable municipal election, financial reporting and legal requirements.
3.Website, Cookies & Analytics
- Our website may use cookies and analytics technologies to help us understand how visitors use the site and improve their experience.
- This information may include technical details such as your IP address, browser or device type, pages visited and general website activity.

Our email communications are intended to comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL); each message identifies the campaign as the sender and includes a way to unsubscribe.

You may contact the campaign if you would like to request access to, update or correct personal information you have provided, subject to applicable legal requirements.
9.Information Retention
For example, records related to campaign contributions are retained as required to meet our financial statement and audit obligations under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
10.Children's Privacy
This website and our campaign contribution process are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
